What to define in the plan
Before automating, you need just a few clear details.
- Customer and service
- Amount, tax rate and description
- Frequency and first due date
- Duration or end date
- Payment terms
- Whether to send the PDF copy automatically
Check before sending
Automation shouldn’t reduce visibility. A queue of scheduled documents lets you catch changes, pauses and renewals before issuing them.
For stable contracts you can reduce checks; for variable ones, keep an explicit approval step.
Track payments too
Generating the invoice is only half the job. The real value comes when the plan, document and payment remain connected: see which fees are invoiced, collected or overdue and act straight away.
